  1. I believe Gatsby is the most interesting character because he is the only character we do not know much about. Pretty much all of Gatsby real life is a secret throughout the whole story, until Nick tells us about Gatsby life as a young man. All of Gatsby life has been a lie and a cover up to try and get Daisy back. Gatsby lives again and again in the memories in his past. He doesn’t want the idea of Daisy not loving him the same way he loves her. Nobody really knows who Gatsby is, only Gatsby knows who he is.

  2. The most interesting character in Gatsy in my opinion is Tom because he is a jealous hypocrit. He cheats on his wife, Daisy, and gets mad at her when she cheats on him. He also shows no emotion to the woman that he cheated on Daisy with when he found out that she had been killed by a car. Indirectly Daisy got rid of the woman that Tom was with and Tom indirectly got rid of Gatsby therefore ridding the relationship of cheating. Tom was interesting because he never liked Gatsby and then found out that his wife had been cheating with him. This led Tom to investigate Gatsby and eventually led to Gatsby’s demise.

  3. The most interesting character in my opinion is Daisy. She is relatable in the way that sometimes life hands us circumstances that we have to deal with in ways that may not make us as happy as other things but are safe. She waited for Gatsby but she thought he had left her so she did what she had to by trying to move on. Even after she recieves the letter from Gatsby she does what is safe and marries Tom because she knows Tom can provide for her. At the end when she does not come see Gatsby before his dimise or even at the funeral she made the decision to move on with Tom and try to forget what has happened. After all she did go 5 years without Gatsby and managed just fine. This makes her dislikable though in my eyes because she chooses security over whom she claims she truly loves.

  4. The most interesting character in “The Great Gatsby” to me is Gatsby himself. He has so many different angles to him that gives the reader suspicion about who he truly is. In the beginning of the story he lives on West Egg in a mansion, and throws extravagant parties every Saturday night. He eventually reveals that he had nothing and had to claw his way to the top, but he does all this for Daisy, the woman he loves. It isn’t until the end that it is revealed how he really made his money by selling grain alcohol over the counter and bootlegging the majority of his money. Sadly in the end he is denied a life with Daisy when he is killed making him an even more memorial character.

  5. In my opinion, there are several fascinating characters in Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. None are more interesting than Gatsby himself. He lives a luxurious lifestyle, yet nobody is positive how he acquired such wealth. The story regarding his money is different depending upon who you are talking to. He wants it to seem as if he has always been a man with a lavish lifestyle. This however, is not the truth. In reality his wealth was accrued through the illegal alcohol business. Nevertheless, had Gatsby been a real person, I would’ve liked and respected him. He was a lieutenant in the army and doesn’t necessarily wish harm upon anyone. He also comes across as an easy going person. All of the vagueness surrounding Gatsby, all the questions left unanswered, is the reason I find him intriguing.

  6. I think Daisy is the most interesting character in "The Great Gatsby”. She is just a very interesting in how she says she will wait for Gatsby after he gets out of the war, but she ends up finding a very rich man Tom and marries him. When Gatsby finally ends up talking to Daisy again at his house, Daisy starts crying about how expensive his shirts were. Then she wants to be with Gatsby because in my opinion she wants him for his money. To me she is a gold digger and she is not a likable character in the story.

  7. I believe the most interesting character in this book is Gatsby himself. He is a very mysterious character, none of the other characters really know much about him or where he comes from. Everyone has their own story about who he is and how he got where he is at. Nobody even really knows what he looks like until Nick meets him and begins telling about his past. Gatsby was once a poor man that fell in love with a young woman while in the army, but didn’t think she would marry him because he wasn’t rich. So he finds a way to get rich, becoming very popular and hopes to gain the love of his life back.

  8. James Gatus or Gatsby is interesting as a character because he goes from poor to rich, happy to enragged, and alive to dead. At the beggining of the story he is very poor growing up. He goes off to the military and after he finishes there he decides to be come extremely rich by bootlegging achol. In the military he meets a girl in daisey who he is in love with and very happy to be around. He leaves on a tour for five years, comes back and she is engaged to another fellow. He is enragged and becomes rich to impress her but in the end still gets turned down! After a party he is driving home and runs over a women who owns a near by gas station. Her husband finds out it was him who had killed his wife and stalked Gatsby. He found the opportunity to kill Gatsby and he did so.

  9. In “The Great Gatsby” the most interesting character in my opinion is Daisy. Daisy is interesting because you can never tell what her true feelings are. She is married to Tom, but was once in love with Gatsby. While being married she has an affair with Gatsby, and reveals she is still in love with him. Daisy and Tom had a very tattered and broken relationship. Daisy accidentally ran over the woman Tom was having an affair with and she let Gatsby take the blame. The husband of the woman that was killed murdered Gatsby, and Daisy fled town with Tom. After everything that happened, Daisy stayed with Tom to live the selfish life of a wealthy person not once revealing a feeling of guilt of Gatsby’s death.Daisy doesn't seem like a very likeable person because of her greedy and selfish ways.

  10. I think that Gatsby is the most interesting character because he is the only character we really don’t know. Most of his real life is one big secret until Nick tells us about Gatsby life as a young man. Gatsby’s life has been a lie and a cover up so he can win over his true love Daisy. Through the whole story nobody really knows who Gatsby is, only Gatsby knows who he is.

  11. I the most interesting charecter is that of Nick, who unlike any other main charecter seems to have a distict grasp on reality. It seems that fitzgerald linked this to him being the least wealthy charecter as if the acclimation of wealth has a factor of distorion. He is the only charecter whose intentions and background are known throughout the entire story, making him the static voice of reason and in acting as a narrater puts emphasis on the revelations of the other charectors lives.
